Q. Are poly tanks repairable?
A. Yes. Plastic welding rod can be provided in case of accidental damage or vandalism. It is simply melted into the damaged area with a heat gun. Sometimes, a polypropylene fitting with a plug can be installed at the point of damage to seal any leaks.
Q. Do the tanks freeze?
A. No. They are used in extremely cold conditions across the nation. However, we recommend using flexible hose type plumbing because the tanks tend to expand and contract in extreme weather conditions. Also, when the temperature is below freezing, leave enough room in the top of the tank to allow for the water to expand when it freezes.
Q. Is delivery available?
A. Yes. Freight rates are available on request. You may also pick up tank at the factories or one of our 10 retail locations.
Q. Does the sunlight have a negative effect on the plastic?
A. No. The tanks are made from UV-inhibited plastic to fight the sun's harmful effects. Tanks are also opaque to retard algae growth and ensure that the tank has a long lifespan.
Q. How do I pay for the tanks?
A. Before product is shipped or picked up at the factory, payment needs to be received. We take credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover, AMEX) over the phone or check/money order through the mail. If product is picked up from one of our retail locations, you can pay at time of purchase.
Q. How long does it take to get the products after they are ordered?
A. If tanks are in stock, approximately 2-5 days. If tanks are not in stock and have to be ordered from the factory, approximately 2-3 weeks. If items are in stock at one of our retail locations you can pick up immediately. If delivery is required it will take approximately 2-5 business days to receive product. Factory lead times can vary - in some cases items are in stock. However 3 to 4 week lead times are not uncommon. Your Loomis Tank professional can provide you with lead times and availability.
Q. What is the warranty?
A. Anywhere between three and ten years, depending on tank manufacturer.
Q. What kind of fittings comes with the tank?
A. A 1.5" top inlet and 2" bottom outlet are standard. Additional fittings can be added at a reasonable price.
Q. What kind of pad do I need?
A. Native soil free of sharp rocks is more than adequate. Sand and concrete pads are also common. No special rock base with gravel ring is needed.
Q. What size do I need?
A. We have a great amount of experience on what size tank will fit your needs, as well as what counties and states may require to meet their standards. If we don't have the information, we can give you suggestions on whom to contact.
Q. What sizes are available and what are their prices?
